Hasan Basri AKTAN born in Ergu - Kemaliye on June 3, 1952, graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. He served as Junior Account Specialist, Account Specialist and Senior Account Specialist in the Ministry of Finance between 1976 - 1988.  In the years 1985-1986 he specialized on Value Added Tax in Germany.  He served as Chairman of Board of Account Specialists in 1989-1994; as Director General of Revenues in Ministry of Finance in 1994-1997; as Ministry Advisor in 1998-199 and as Minister of Transportation appointed outside the parliament at the 56th T.R. Government in the period Jan 11-May 29 1999.He enjoyed retirement in the years 2000-2002. He served as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance in the period December 18, 2002 – June 8,  2009.
